So, yeah. One of the few things I've always been interested in is getting a career in tech journalism, since it seems like the best fit for me.

After all, it was reading all those PC Gamer, PC Plus, PC Magazine and all sorts of computer magazines as a teenager is what inspired me to start writing and learn about computing, something which resulted in a love/hate relationship with computers and technology in general.

But suffice to say, I'm sort of burnt out with my degree program, but at the same time I knew that I have to continue with it, especially when I have two more semesters to go.

The problem right now, is that I've just received a notification from my friend that my favorite publishing company (the same company that produced the local version of PC Gamer) is looking out for writers, which caught my attention since they haven't been doing well for a while now (including having to cancel the local edition of PC Gamer. I was gutted when that happened.)

And the specifications look good, have either a Diploma or Degree (well, I'm working on the latter), a good command of English, (debatable), No Prior Work Experience,(I worked for 15 months doing tech support), casual dress code, good pay, Medical, Allowance and Parking benefits, and best of all, it's only 10 minutes from my home by car. (My home back...home. Not this rented house in a state eight hours away just to attend college.) and of course...writing for cash. Which is a pretty good deal.

The only problem is that, firstly, I'm attending college eight hours from here, I don't have a car to use, (Yeah. 23 years old and I don't have a car to my name) my dad insists I finish my degree first, (which, assuming my luck, the position will be filled in when I'm done with that) and get a Master's degree, and there's no guarantee that job will last.

So, yeah. Do you think I should at least send in my resume and hope for the best, or let this one slide by?

Go for it!
Maybe something can be worked out.

If it falls through stay in touch with the person who contacts you.
You will need a pro network to find a job.
Knowing folks in the industry will reduce the time you spend looking for a job.
